Job Details
Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Pay range: $41.10 - $61.65 per hour.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
BSN Degree required, MSN preferred
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state in which one works required
Oncology experience required
Certification in the appropriate specialized field within 2 years of being in the position required
Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
Coordinate the patient's care to increase the efficiency and quality of care that is delivered to the patient, starting at diagnosis and continuing throughout the care journey.
Serve as a patient advocate, providing highly supportive and personal care, and act as a liaison to ensure patients and families receive necessary resources and services.
Educate and provide information to new and existing patients and families regarding diagnosis, work‑up, treatments (including surgery, therapy, and support services), financial issues, community resources, survivorship issues, and follow‑up.
Contact every newly diagnosed patient at the time of diagnosis.
Assess each new patient for emotional and social needs, and identify barriers to care such as health insurance, transportation, etc., referring to the needed resources.
Identify trends and barriers to patient expedient care and conduct service recovery as needed. Responsible for patient satisfaction.
