Interregional Planning Advisor

MISO is navigating a rapidly evolving energy landscape, where effective interregional transmission planning is critical. We’re seeking a collaborative professional to help lead these efforts and drive meaningful impact.

As our

Interregional Planning Advisor , you will lead key transmission planning activities tied to MISO’s interregional agreements and alternative studies. You’ll manage projects, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and partner across teams to enhance planning processes and outcomes.

In this role, you will:

Lead process and policy projects, developing and coordinating work plans related to interregional planning and cost allocation.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings and external communications.

Drive process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and timeliness.

Prepare reports and insights for transmission owners, committees, state regulators, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, North American Electric Reliability Corporation, and other stakeholders.

Collaborate across internal teams including expansion planning, economic planning, and cost allocation.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $124,000-$149,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or better in Economics or related field; or Bachelor’s or better in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in Planning or Operations experience, demonstrated ability to develop, communicate and coordinate plans and projects, and previous energy industry experience.
