Our client, a well‑established and growing mechanical services company focused on energy‑efficient HVAC solutions, is seeking a
Senior Commercial HVAC Technician
to support installation, service, and repair of commercial HVAC/R systems in the Monterey area. This role is ideal for a senior‑level technician with a strong background in commercial HVAC service, refrigeration systems, and controls/BAS environments.
Responsibilities:
Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and energy‑efficient operation
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues using standard tools and diagnostic equipment
Perform system start‑ups, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and repairs
Work on equipment including RTUs, AHUs, VRF/VRV systems, chillers (if applicable), package units, and mini‑splits
Support and interface with building automation systems (BAS/DDC controls) for system performance and troubleshooting
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Commercial HVAC Technician (service and/or install)
2+ years of experience working with commercial refrigeration systems
EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
Strong working knowledge of electrical systems (AC/DC) and HVAC controls/BAS systems
Experience troubleshooting RTUs, AHUs, VRF systems, and related commercial equipment
Ability to work independently in the field and manage service calls
Compensation:
Base salary in the $60.00 - $100.00/hour range
