Job Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency with skills and knowledge to perform noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations, assess technical data and provide preliminary results, and assist in the interpretation of exams.

Exam types include:

Visceral arterial/venous

Cerebrovascular including TCDI

Peripheral venous

Peripheral arterial

Vascular surgery OR procedures pre, intra, and post‑operative evaluations

Required Experience and Qualifications
Experience:

Vascular ultrasound experience preferred but not required.

Licensure, certification and/or registration:

RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography. ARDMS or CCI. CPR certification required.

Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.

Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).

Trains students and staff as assigned.

Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.

Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.

Education
High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.

Other Requirements
Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
