Cardiology has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Service Specialist to join our team
The Associate Patient Service Specialist is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
Schedule
This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work on any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
This role will provide on the job training and the hours for training will be normal business hours, Monday - Friday. This position is Remote in Worcester, MA. If you are located within a commutable distance to a Reliant office that is nearest to you in MA or surrounding locations, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
Verifies, re-verifies and authorizes patient insurance coverage and eligibility utilizing computer-based patient registration/scheduling system
Verifies and updates demographic, insurance and other patient information
Confirms, collects, and posts patient co-payment and other outstanding balances
Addresses patient‑care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue aligning with department metric
Identifies problem related priorities, and responds to emergency needs by contacting/interrupting physician/provider within guidelines
Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process
Completes and maintains patient schedules. Schedules and coordinates patient visits, medical procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Communicates with patients regarding all information related to scheduled appointments
Notifies providers, patients and others of changes such as new scheduling, re-scheduling, no‑show, emergency appointments and add-ons
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of customer service experience in a clinical setting
1+ years of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Ability to work full time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
Must live within a commutable distance to a Reliant location nearest to you in the Worcester, MA area or surrounding areas
Must be 18 years of age OR older
Preferred Qualifications
Beginner level of proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
Previous call center experience
EPIC experience

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
