Job Description
Key responsibilities include:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples.

Diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability.

Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans with clients.

Surgical preparation and assistance, anesthetic management.

Exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, waste, and potentially contagious diseases.

Continuing training and development are available.

Qualifications

Currently licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license; 1+ year professional experience required.

If not currently licensed in VA, must be eligible for license acquisition or transfer.

Must be 18 or older and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays due to the nature of Emergency Medicine.

Experience with anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.

Consistent punctuality and reliability with scheduled shifts.

Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.

Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventive care, and hospital operations.

Expertise in safe, low‑stress animal restraint techniques.

Proficiency in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin specimens).

Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.

Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with animal‑related hazards.
