Managed Care Facility Health Administrator

Position Summary
Employees in this position are responsible for managing the day‑to‑day administrative operations of a clinic in a correctional facility. The role involves a high degree of initiative, independent judgment and professional skills, overseeing all operations within the medical office located inside the prison facility. The position requires meeting deadlines, leading and attending regular meetings, occasional travel, and significant collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including daily interaction with TDCJ unit wardens.

Major / Essential Functions

Participate in the development and implementation of the mission, vision, and values of Managed Care with a focus on high‑quality, patient‑focused healthcare.

Provide leadership for department employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising staff.

Make decisions requiring judgment and independent thinking when precedent is lacking and matters are of considerable importance.

Exercise a high degree of initiative and leadership.

Ensure staff compliance with health care plans and state objectives related to clinical goals.

Ensure program and corporate compliance with primary health‑care policies and external regulatory bodies such as ACA, HIPAA, CLIA, and other professional standards.

Conduct semi‑annual internal ACA audits and report findings to Associate Managing Director/Managing Director for Field Operations.

Facilitate and lead process‑improvement events, employing team‑building, data gathering, problem‑solving, and project‑management techniques.

Plan, coordinate, and direct broad and complex management and financial functions for the unit.

Delegate and ensure accuracy and compliance of employee payroll functions, leave policies, personnel action forms, and other official documents.

Analyze and review data for performance reports and produce additional reports as needed.

Delegate and ensure compliant departmental purchasing and travel.

Monitor resource data and work closely with stakeholders (medical director, dental director, nursing, behavioral health, managed‑care leadership, HR, TDCJ, etc.) to maintain performance and overall unit operations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health care administration or a business‑related field plus four years of supervisory experience; or a combination of education and supervisory experience equal to eight years.

Preferred Qualifications
Current TTUHSC Managed Care employee with correctional‑facility experience.

Internal Only
This position is open to internal candidates of TTUHSC only.

Visa Information
TTUHSC may initiate new H‑1B I‑129 visa petitions and may sponsor eligible individuals for change‑of‑status or change‑of‑employer petitions. The institution will not pay the $100,000 fee if applicable.

Pay
Full time, monthly pay based on qualifications and budgetary guidelines. Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the selected individual and the institutional pay plan.

Travel Required
Up to 25%.
