Job Summary
Responsible for the operation of a dedicated mammography equipment to perform radiologic procedures and overseeing other Mammographers.
Patient Care Requirement: Yes
Essential Functions
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms as needed.
Perform and document all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) per DPH, MQSA, and ACR guidelines.
Maintain daily records on all mammography examinations.
Monitor compliance with recommendations for follow‑up studies.
Monitor recommendations for biopsies to ensure follow‑up procedures have been performed.
Maintain pathological results from biopsies.
Qualifications
Education
– High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Licenses and Credentials
– Radiologic Technologist [State License] – Generic – HR Only, Preferred; Registered Technologist [ARRT-R], Preferred; Mammography [ARRT-M], Preferred; Radiologic Technologist [State License] – Generic – HR Only, Preferred.
Experience
– Prior mammography experience 2–3 years required; Supervisory experience 1–2 years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Maintain all required continuing education credits and licensure during employment.
Recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients; understand differences of female growth and development; look for signs of normal aging, degree of understanding and physical limitation related to age.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
