DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS
The Education Department supports CASA’s multi‑generation approach to education by engaging youth and families in attaining educational opportunities for all. The department manages the Mi Espacio after‑school program, which promotes high‑school graduation, leadership development, post‑secondary enrollment, and career readiness for first and second generation immigrant youth. Students from grades nine through twelve are eligible, and the program meets four days a week at High Pointe High School and CASA’s Multicultural Center, offering workshops on college and career readiness, financial literacy, health, enrichment activities, and civic engagement. The Life Skills ESOL program uses popular education techniques to address adult learners’ educational needs, focusing on concrete everyday experiences, civic engagement, and community empowerment.
