Salary: Level II up to $60,531.46; Level III up to $68,065.80 (based on education and experience)

Position Overview
SoonerStart is Oklahoma’s early intervention program for infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) with developmental delays and/or disabilities. The program builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist family members in enhancing infants or toddlers’ learning and development through everyday learning opportunities.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Provides early intervention services in the child and family’s natural environment (home, childcare, park, etc.).

Participates in family interview.

Conducts intakes, client interviews, and assessments to make appropriate recommendations for services.

Educates parents and professionals in child health development through materials and curricula.

Collaborates with families and caregivers to identify goals, develop strategies, and appropriate effective family intervention services plans.

Participates in the development and implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan according to state and federal guidelines; serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team to monitor effectiveness of services.

Teaches parents ways to enhance their child’s health and developmental potential.

Maintains confidential records of services, including progress notes and evaluation reports, in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Assists in the selection, preparation, and distribution of materials on child health and development to further the purpose of the program.

Provides information on parenting and child health and development.

Provides referrals to relevant services.

Collaborates with community agencies and conducts community‑wide efforts to promote the health, development, and behavioral well‑being of young children and families.

Initiates and implements steps necessary for smooth transition services from the early intervention program.

Being present in the office is an essential function.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, RN license in Oklahoma, and two years of RN experience. Preferred education and experience in infant and toddler development, parent‑child relations, positive guidance, family systems, assessment, and working with parents of exceptional children.

Level III: Same qualifications as Level II with enhanced responsibilities.

Willingness and ability to perform all job‑related travel; possession of a valid driver’s license.

Valued Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Level II: Knowledge of child health and development from birth to age three, community health resources, assessment, educational program development, cooperative teamwork, and parenting skills instruction.

Level III: Same knowledge and skills with increased complexity.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The work is performed in the child’s natural environment or an office setting. Telework and remote service provision may also be required. Employees must talk, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and may lift up to 35 pounds. Presence in the office is essential.

Travel Requirements
Willingness to perform all job‑related travel is required; occasional in‑state overnight and weekend travel may be required.
