Registered Nurse MNA – MedSurg 4A – 32 hours (3 p‑11 p), Rotating Weekends
About the MedSurg Units
The Medical‑Surgical Units at Boston Medical Center – South play a vital role in delivering comprehensive inpatient care to a diverse patient population. These units, including Post‑Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho‑spine, Bariatrics and Hospice beds, serve as the backbone of the hospital’s acute care services, managing patients with a wide range of medical and post‑surgical needs. Across all med‑surg units, nurses and interdisciplinary teams provide evidence‑based, patient‑centered care that focuses on recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning. As a central component of the hospital’s continuum of care, these units support patients through various stages of illness and recovery, ensuring safe transitions whether patients are moving to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or returning home.
Position Summary
As an RN in MedSurg, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient‑centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
Update and manage patient records
Enter and interpret computerized data/information
Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Requirements
Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required
License/Certifications: Current RN MA license & BLS required
Experience: Prior acute Med/Surg experience preferred
