Job Title
Medical Assistant

– responsibilities include direct patient and family care after check‑in, supporting Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric Urology in shared clinic space.

Schedule & Locations
Shift:

Mon‑Thurs, 8:30 am‑5:30 pm; Fridays, 8 am‑5 pm.

Locations:

1432 S Dobson Rd, suite 501, Mesa 85202.

Travel to Ironwood Multispecialty clinic at 37100 N. Gantzel Rd, Queen Creek AZ 85140 may be required 1‑2× per month.

Position Summary
This position assists clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care and implements direct patient care. Duties are performed using specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to deliver an excellent patient experience.

Core Functions

Prepares patients for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements, and documents pain scores.

Assists providers with exams and minor in‑office procedures, including phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs, and acts as chaperone when needed.

Coordinates and manages patient care including pre‑certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling for clinic and ancillary medical services.

Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, including medical records, lab results, and billing information.

Maintains a clean, functional environment and performs basic equipment maintenance and sterilization procedures.

Monitors inventory for medications and immunizations, noting expirations and recalls.

Develops and maintains effective communication with internal and external customers and follows project scope under a supervisor.

Completes all necessary onboarding, orientation, and simulation training activities.

Works under direct supervision of providers, interacting with staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and BLS certification required. An un‑certified Medical Assistant will be placed in this position up to 12 months from hire to obtain certification. Certification from RMA (AMT), CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT) is required.

Required computer skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with office medical procedures, insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software preferred. Additional related education and experience are welcome.
