
Mental Health Technician - Weekend shift

Responsibilities
Assist in the direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team.
Assist with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients and consider their level of growth.
Accompany and actively supervise patients in activities of daily living, appointments, and recreational activities that occur both on and off the living unit.
Actively assist therapists and teachers in providing therapeutic and/or educational activities.
Document patient behaviors, condition, and progress on a daily basis by recording data in the prescribed format.
Provide hands‑on physical care, supervision, crisis intervention, behavior management, and behavior modification as directed by the individual treatment plan and unit program guidelines.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (prefer bachelor's degree or college courses in healthcare, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development).
Current CPR certification.
No minimum experience required; preferably one year as a nurse’s aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
Must sustain physical activity and remain on feet throughout a scheduled shift; lifting 50 lbs is required and SAMA training is required.
