Job Summary
As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting.
Every day you will complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits. You will also collect and prepare specimens, administer ordered medications and vaccines, clean and sterilize instruments, ensure exam room readiness, and meticulously complete safety checklists, escalating any non‑routine issues promptly.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, efficiency, and safety, adeptly managing all intake processes and supporting clinical operations. Your ability to meticulously follow protocols, maintain a clean and stocked environment, and proactively address concerns will be crucial for exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities
Personal, crew, patient and bystander safety: scene size‑up, emergency scenes are dynamic events; the EMT must prioritize their safety and then that of others.
Patient assessment and delivery of care: provide patient care functions according to protocol, procedure, and written directives to the level of certification. Perform a patient assessment throughout a call on every patient encountered, providing appropriate treatment and transportation decisions.
Maintain and improve skill level and knowledge base: attend 75% of annual departmental training and complete the annual Skills Competency Fair.
Transport and transfer of care: verify patient identification before transport, contact receiving facilities, and provide a safe patient care report. Transfer the patient to the appropriate facility and healthcare provider with a complete and accurate verbal report, using geographic knowledge of the service area and map/GPS skills.
Record keeping and data collection: neatly and accurately complete written and electronic Patient Care Reports (ePCR), leaving a copy of the transported patient’s report in every receiving facility.
Patient advocacy: assist patients with special concerns that need to be brought to hospital personnel’s attention (e.g., geriatric patients who may require additional home care).
Qualifications
High School GED or High School Graduate.
Driver’s License: Texas, upon hire.
Emergency Medical Technician certification: Texas, upon hire.
Basic Life Support – CPR within 14 days of hire.

You will work at St. Joseph Health in Bryan/College Station, Navasota, Caldwell, and Madisonville (TX).
Pay Range
$16.06 – $22.69 per hour
