Position Overview
As a CSFA, you will play a distinctive role in our surgical team. In addition to your technical skills, we expect you to bring a unique creative perspective to the operating room. Your role goes beyond traditional surgical assisting to introduce solutions and experience to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide traditional surgical assistance, including retracting, suturing, and maintaining a sterile field.
Collaborate with surgeons to develop creative solutions to complex surgical challenges.
Apply techniques to enhance surgical procedures.
Contribute innovative ideas to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.
Stay current with the latest surgical advancements and creative approaches in healthcare.
Inspire and mentor colleagues by sharing creative insights and techniques.
Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Provide operating room support to physicians and surgeons, including assisting during procedures and passing required instruments.
Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, office staff, patients, and employees; maintain privacy and confidentiality per policy.
Comply with Policies & Procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
Serve as a resource to other members of the health care team.

Required Skills
Minimum HS Diploma required
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required
Current BLS certification
Ortho experience preferred
Proven experience as a Surgical Assistant, with a creative portfolio of surgical accomplishments
Strong technical skills in surgical procedures and instrumentation
Exceptional artistic and creative abilities, with a track record of applying creativity to healthcare
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
A passion for innovation and a commitment to patient-centered care
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic surgical environment
