Overview
The Patient Care Aide (PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The PCA must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN/LPN.
Maintain patient care standards.
Work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Organize, set priorities, and manage multiple priorities.
Adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Qualifications
Education: High School/GED completion.
License, Certification and/or Registration: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
