Pharmacist

Overview: Performs duties of distribution, documentation, and compounding related to drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs, and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient-focused clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

Education

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelors or higher in Pharmacy

Work Experience

Hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

PHARMD – Licensed Pharmacist (Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia Upon Hire)
