Overview
Job Summary:

To inspire and prepare each scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to the community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide service and support in the area employed, including writing and implementing individual scholar goals and objectives, evaluating scholar performance according to the goals and objectives on the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) used by the district, promoting scholar achievement, maintaining required scholar records, and making related reports to licensed administrators as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent. Maintain contact with guardians/caregivers and work with them in the development of each scholar. Perform classroom management duties, enforce district rules governing conduct, follow due process guidelines per state and federal rules, use resources and technologies appropriately, implement district and school goals, provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning when applicable, and collaborate with others. Willing to participate in district, building, and department leadership activities. Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of guardians/caregivers, department, building and/or district at the discretion of the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Promote scholar achievement and maintain required scholar records, including related reports to site/department licensed administrators as prescribed.

Maintain contact with guardians/caregivers and assist in developing each scholar’s plan.

Perform classroom management duties and enforce district rules following due process guidelines.

Understand and implement state and federal rules, regulations, and district policy.

Make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies.

Implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school/program.

Provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable.

Work collaboratively with others and participate in leadership activities at district, building, and department levels.

Be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of guardians/caregivers, department, building, and/or district.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed as an Occupational Therapist
