Clinical Nurse II - Burn ICU - FT, Nights

Position Summary
The clinical nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients, ensuring coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate psychomotor and age‑appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Will evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, readiness for discharge and revise plans or make referrals as necessary. Acts as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit. Functions as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Coordinate care between disciplines and support staff.

Assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients.

Evaluate patient outcomes and effectiveness of care plans.

Revise plans or make referrals as necessary.

Mentor students and new nurses.

Act as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervision.

Required Qualifications

Must possess PALS certification within 6 months of hire.

Minimum of 1 year recent critical care experience.

All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.

Pediatric experience.

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.

Licenses And Certifications

Registered Nurse.

Basic Life Support.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
