Job Overview

Provide support to primary care providers in a variety of clinical settings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and physicians. Perform patient-oriented procedures, support daily clinic operations, communicate with patients and health care team members, and perform administrative duties. Promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.
Responsibilities

Under the clinical direction of a provider or with a valid provider’s order, the Medical Assistant:
Performs patient-oriented procedures
Provides support to the Primary Care Team for daily clinic operations
Communicates effectively with patients, PCT, and other health care team members
Performs administrative duties
Addresses ongoing patient needs and collaborates with physicians and other providers
Promotes efficient use of health care resources
Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant. Must have ACTIVE certification status prior to appointment.
