Position Summary
Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation is housed within five outpatient sites that offer a full scope of rehabilitative services for children ranging from birth to age 21 with a variety of diagnoses and conditions. The pediatric rehabilitation team operates in a collaborative, fast‑paced, patient‑centered environment with the goal of working with children to maximize their potential.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients, gathering data from the patient, physicians, interdisciplinary team meetings, family and other sources.
Develop treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care, set specific goals and objectives, and treat accordingly.
Evaluate and recommend durable medical equipment such as standers, gait trainers and orthotics.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate for the age of the patients served.
Re‑evaluate and modify treatment plans and goals when appropriate.
Apply knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span.
Ensure complete documentation and accurate billing using the electronic medical record.
Other Related Functions
Maintain a positive and encouraging treatment environment.
Demonstrate caring, honesty, and open communication with all patients and coworkers.
Participate in performance improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control as required.
Practice efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
Instruct and supervise supportive personnel in their duties.
Communicate and collaborate with multiple specialty healthcare providers.
Attend rehabilitation meetings, in‑services, and any patient care meetings required for the assignment.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree from an approved program in physical therapy.
Licensure/Certification
Maintain a current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida.
Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
Two years of outpatient pediatric experience preferred.
