Civil Engineering Intern

The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with engineering work related to roadway, grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, paving, cost estimating, feasibility, residential, industrial, municipal and site development projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Civil design in roadway, grading, drainage, utility and site development projects for both residential and commercial development.
Assist preparing construction plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents and cost estimates.
Learn about relevant design standards and procedures.

COMPETENCIES

Ability to work take direction and work independently or with a team
Efficient use of time to complete tasks accurately, meet deadlines and within budget
Strong attention to detail
SKILLS
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation software
Microsoft office software
Writing emails, letters and memos
Multi-tasking
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment and requires a professional appearance. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to operate their personal vehicle for company business.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a temporary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:p.m. for a specified duration.
TRAVEL
Employee may be required to travel to local client and governmental offices as well as visit jobsites.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
0-4 years of work experience
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
