About The Department

We’re a small community hospital with many of the resources available to big hospitals; our OB hospitalist team, respiratory therapists, CRNAs and midwives are all in‑house and available 24/7

Level 2 NICU, Pediatric and low‑to‑moderate risk LDRP services provided

Ensure an outstanding patient experience in private rooms, where patients can labor, deliver, recover and be discharged all from the same room for their comfort

Our holistic approach includes welcoming doulas and midwives, participating in the Home Birth Transfer Partnership, supporting pain management alternatives and providing a jacuzzi tub in every room

The RN for Women’s and Children’s Center ensures the delivery of quality nursing care to patients throughout the Women’s & Children’s Center, including those who require cardiac monitoring. Responsible for the assessment of patient needs, planning nursing care based on those needs, and ensuring that the plan of care is implemented, documented and evaluated according to the nursing process. Demonstrates skill sets and competencies that are needed to accept a regular patient care assignment in a minimum of two areas within the Women’s & Children’s Center, including neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, labor and delivery, or post‑partum. Supervises care given by supportive staff including techs and CNA’s.

Main Responsibilities

Provide developmental care.

Derives nursing goals from assessment data to identify expected patient outcomes.

Collaborates with patient, partner and health care team to develop individualized goals and plan of care.

Provide concise, pertinent report to health care team, physicians, and clinical managers.

Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS

NRP required within six (6) months of hire

S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required within six (6) months of hire

American Heart Association PALS certification required within six (6) months of hire

To ensure appropriate skill mix for NICU or Pediatrics openings in the Women’s and Children’s Center, two (2) years of NICU or inpatient Pediatric experience required within the last 3 years, or a capstone in a Women’s and Children’s service line completed within the last 12 months
