Position
The RN/LPN provides holistic and compassionate nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting clients in an inpatient or residential higher level of care (HLOC) setting or in an outpatient setting with primary focus on clients in day programming (PHP/IDP).

Schedule

12-hour shifts (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)

2 shifts per week

Self-schedule M-F

Alternating weekends

Compensation
$30-$45 per hour plus shift differential. Final compensation offered will be within the pay range based on qualifications and experience.

How Nurses Empower Recovery

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify nursing care needs, potential risks, and psychological challenges.

Provide medication management including education, assessing adherence, administration in the inpatient and residential setting only, and monitoring for side effects in collaboration with provider.

Assist and support medical and psychiatric providers with medical care coordination.

Provide medical care coordination between patient, provider, staff, family, and outside care agencies as needed.

Serve as a staff resource for client medical needs and information.

Recognize and appropriately respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies.

Be responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the client medical record.

Follow through with directives provided by a Nurse Manager or Lead Nurse when applicable.

Partner with the team effectively to maximize performance through communication, team dynamics, and adaptability to change to ensure high-quality care.

Drive clients, staff, and supplies in the company vehicle in emergencies as needed (Inpatient or Residential only).

Process refills, laboratory procedures, EKGs, vitals, supply ordering and stocking, and triaging of calls.

Assist staff to provide a safe environment for patient care.

Adhere to policies and procedures defined by the programs, including maintaining client confidentiality and client rights.

Able to take initiative, use critical thinking skills, and work autonomously when needed.

Provide direction and support to LPNs, CNAs, and Medical Assistants.

Perform nursing assessments and tasks (e.g., patient assessments, venipuncture/phlebotomy, EKG placement and capture, nasogastric tube feeds, implementation of provider orders).

Partner with medical and psychiatric providers to ensure client safety during treatment at Accanto facilities, including appropriate management of medication regimen.

Collaborate with nutrition and medical teams to monitor meal compliance and health impacts.

Operate as the Person in Charge during afterhours and escalate to on-call leadership/providers during after-hour periods.

Partner with the treatment team to create appropriate treatment plans for each client.

Collaborate with BHTs to assist with client de-escalations.

Collaborate with site staff on incident reports.

Respond to medical concerns in the milieu.

Perform safety assessments after hours.

Initiate emergency response protocols after business hours.

Initiate nursing interventions to protect client safety.

Make appropriate client accommodations for group attendance based on medical concerns.

Education Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required.

Current licensure in state practicing or compact as a Registered Nurse required.

Other Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to drive.

Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 15 days from date of hire.

Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

Employees at Residential site in Washington are required to have a Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.

Workplace Environment

Physically able to stand for long periods and respond quickly in emergencies.

Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

Lift, carry, push, or pull up to approximately 40 pounds (supplies, etc.).

Fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.

Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.

Competencies

Competence with Information Technology (basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Teams).

Vital sign and physical assessments.

NG tube placement training (inpatient only).
