School Nurse

Catholic High School of Baltimore is seeking a qualified candidate for a School Nurse. Confidentiality and security of student records is required.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
Nursing experience in a middle school or high school setting
Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support certification
Strong interpersonal skills, including compassion and empathy, especially in interactions with adolescent girls
Ability to quickly and competently assess medical situations and elevate as needed
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to commit to the mission and philosophy of Catholic High School of Baltimore
Responsibilities
Provide first aid and medical care services to students, faculty and staff
Provide emergency care to students, faculty and staff as needed
Administer medications and treatments to students as ordered by students’ physicians
Assist in the collection and management of health forms
Create and maintain documentation of all encounters, assessments, and interventions
Follow communicable disease control procedures
Serve as liaison between students, teachers and families in regards to health concerns
Maintain confidentiality of all health-related information of students, faculty, and staff
Enforce all school policies and procedures in line with the Franciscan mission and values of the school
Serve as moderator of the student Nurses’ Club
Additional duties as assigned
