Position Title
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Location and Schedule
LewisGale Physicians Valley View Fam Med GME. Full time, Monday - Friday day shift. No nights, on-call, weekends, or holidays.
Responsibilities
Manage efficient patient flow including screening, exam prep, sample collection instructions, and vitals.
Notify patients of test results, follow-up appointments, medications, and treatment instructions.
Maintain patient records, chart entries, lab/test results, and examination notes.
Schedule tests and treatments, arrange referrals, obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
Assist provider with physical exams and examination preparation.
Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients.
Control inventory and monitor supplies.
Record patient health history and note abnormal conditions for physicians.
Screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician.
Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
Qualifications
A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in compliance with state regulations.
