Nursing Assistant - MSC Recovery (PACU)

Overview
Riverside University Health System Medical Center is hiring a Nursing Assistant to join the MSC Recovery (PACU) Division in Moreno Valley. Under supervision, the assistant assists professional nursing personnel or other professional healthcare providers in providing basic patient care and treatment, monitors patients via video equipment, performs non‑professional nursing duties for physically and mentally ill patients, and completes related duties as required.
Responsibilities
Provide basic bedside nursing care, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure measurements, bathing, shaving, feeding, and dressing patients.
Collect, test, and record results of routine specimen examinations.
Assist with or perform treatments such as suctioning, soaks, enemas, sitz baths, and support physicians or other professionals with IVs, pelvic exams, spinal taps, or other procedures.
Assist patients in transferring to and from bed and wheelchairs, including lifting, restraining, and positioning.
Clean and sterilize instruments, dressings, supplies, and utensils; transport patients between units.
Maintain renal dialysis equipment and prepare bodies for morgue; clean restrooms and assemble oral hygiene trays.
Observe and report unusual patient behavior, accompany mental health patients in therapy or social activities as needed.
Provide patient transportation when Medical Transportation Technician is unavailable; assist with admission and discharge.
Monitor patients using the AvaSys Telesitter Solution software and associated equipment.
Verbally redirect patients via two‑way radio from at‑risk behaviors, and summon nursing staff if assistance is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of the education required by the State of California to obtain the necessary certifications.
Must possess one of the following certifications:
Valid Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) issued by the State of California
Valid Paramedic license issued by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority
Valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification approved by the State of California
Knowledge of basic patient care principles, patient vital signs, medical terminology, video monitoring equipment, and safe patient handling techniques.
Ability to read, write, and speak English; learn hospital routines; monitor and alert staff; perform bedside care; communicate effectively with patients; follow instructions and use computer, radio, mobile phone, and video monitoring equipment; maintain records; apply proper body mechanics.
Additional Requirements
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
Current CNA Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Proof of Nursing Assistant Certification, AHA BLS card, and other required documents must be uploaded to the application profile.

Work Schedule
5/40 (Mon‑Fri 9:00 am – 5:30 pm). Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, and schedule may change as operational needs require.
Salary Range
Hourly: $20.71 – $27.60
Monthly: $3,589.73 – $4,783.33
Annual: $43,076.80 – $57,399.93
