Job Summary
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Wesley Medical Center is a year‑long program that provides hands‑on experience and supports new graduate nurses during their transition from student to registered nurse. The program includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, and mentoring.

Responsibilities
Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care in the medical record promptly and thoroughly
Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene appropriately if an unintended response occurs
Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs
Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into understandable terms
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
Other certifications may be required during employment
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse license or graduate nurse status in the state
No prior nursing experience required
Some travel may be required for training
