Citizens is seeking an ambitious Investment Banking Analyst and Associate to join the Financial Institutions Group. In these roles you will support senior bankers with a focus on originating and executing capital markets and strategic advisory transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for you to join a rapidly growing investment banking platform with market leading positions in middle market corporate and sponsor backed transactions complemented by strong public equity research. As a Corporate Finance Analyst/Associate, you will participate in all steps of the transaction life cycle, from origination through closing. You will thrive in this role through your ability to work on multiple projects and transactions concurrently. You will play a critical role in originating new opportunities and coordinating projects, and will interact directly with Managing Directors, senior management, other product groups within Citizens, as well as with corporate and private equity clients. You will be expected to work under limited supervision, leading execution for sell-side M&A engagements, as well as supporting industry aligned senior professionals in Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Sponsor Coverage to originate and successfully execute a wide variety of transactions, including initial public offerings, convertibles, acquisition finance, loan syndication, and high yield bonds. Primary responsibilities include

Working with senior bankers within the Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Sponsor Coverage and Corporate Banking relationship teams to pitch strategies or transaction financing scenarios to help corporate clients and financial sponsors achieve their financial and strategic objectives.

Assisting in the evaluation and execution of sell-side Mergers & Acquisitions engagements across the Financial Institutions Group - consisting of assignments across Wealth Management, Accounting Services, Legal Services, Insurance and Insurance Services, Alternative Asset Managers / BDCs, FinTech, Specialty Finance, and Mortgage Finance.

Providing financial analysis and materials preparation for both equity and debt capital markets transaction opportunities - inclusive of initial public offerings, follow on offerings, convertible note issuances, rated term loan B issuances, and more.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

2+ years of direct experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Leveraged Finance or Capital Markets.

Proven experience in Financial Institutions Group is strongly preferred.

Skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner.

Ability to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teams.

Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and company or industry analysis.

Self-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment.

High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude.

Excellent attention to detail.

Full command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Experience with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, S&P Leveraged Commentary, Advantage Data, Bloomberg, Thomson One, Thomson Loan Pricing Connector, FactSet, etc.

Hours per Week: 40+

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
