Position Overview

TNAA TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Polysomnographer (Sleep Technician) for a 13‑week assignment in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The role involves 36 hours per week on 12‑hour nighttime shifts. Posted job title: Sleep Technician – Sleep Technologist – Travel. Job ID #1387528. Pay is based on 12‑hour shifts; tax‑free stipend will be determined.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct overnight sleep studies to diagnose and monitor patients with sleep disorders.
Prepare patients for studies, explain procedures and attach monitoring equipment.
Monitor physiological responses using EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory, and oxygen saturation equipment.
Identify and respond to sleep‑related events (apneas, hypopneas, arousals).
Ensure accurate data collection and documentation throughout the study.
Recognize medical emergencies and respond according to protocol.
Score sleep studies and generate preliminary reports for physician review (if credentialed).
Maintain and calibrate sleep lab equipment.
Promote patient safety and comfort during the study.
Follow infection control and privacy standards.
Work overnight shifts, typically 10–12 hours in duration.
Qualifications

One year or more of experience as a Sleep Technician, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Current BLS certification and RPSGT (BRPT) National Certification. State licensure may be required.
Ability to stay alert throughout long night shifts, excellent attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills for compassionate patient care.
Requirements

BLS certification.
RPSGT (BRPT) certification.
At least 2 years of experience (note: 1 year required; certifications may be required before assignment).
