Job Description Summary
Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
High School diploma or GED required.
BLS required upon hire or within 30 days of employment. FCS will provide a BLS course within the first 30 days.
Valid Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following approved boards:
CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
CCMA and CMAA – National Health Career Association (NHA)
NCMA – National Center for Competency Testing
RMA – American Medical Technologist (AMT)
NRCMA – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
Nationally Certified Medical Assistant – RMA(AAH) – American Allied Health
MAC – American Medical Certification Association
Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
One year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office; venipuncture experience preferred.

Interpersonal Effectiveness: Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset but not required. Effective oral, written, and presentation communication; active listening and balanced feedback.
Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration, and partnerships, as well as positive employee, physician and community relations.
Self‑Management:
Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, stress, and professional development. Self‑motivated and self‑starter with ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Must be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
EMR proficiency required.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required, and weekend shifts based on location hours and operational needs.
