Registered Veterinary Technician
to join our team. This role works across Internal Medicine, Dermatology, and Oncology and requires a positive, energetic, and adaptable individual who is willing to teach, share ideas, and embrace diversity.
Requirements
Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility
Friendly, outgoing, and people oriented
Excellent communication skills
Capable of cross‑training for front‑office duties; telephone and computer skills necessary
Team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and accept change
Medical Related Skills
Phlebotomy
IV catheter placement
Preparing and restraining animals during procedures
Anesthetic induction and monitoring
Assisting in surgery; suture of cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues
Application of bandages and/or splints
Wound care
Use of stethoscope and otoscope
Advising pet owners on proper care
Duties
Maintain excellent relations with clients and pets in the waiting area and exam rooms
Exceed client expectations of service
Provide compassionate nursing care as the top priority for all patients
Housekeeping and maintenance
Perform a cursory examination of animals and recognize potential issues
Communicate findings clearly to a doctor
Maintain accurate records
Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed
Education And Physical Requirements
College or college-equivalent education required to become a Registered Veterinary Technician
Dependable attendance
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Willingness to work long or irregular hours under pressure
Capacity to walk, bend, stand, squat, and reach constantly throughout an 8‑hour day
