Overview
Capital Choice Pathology Lab
Adventist Capital Choice Pathology seeks to hire an experienced Histotechnologist for our Silver Spring, MD location who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities
Performs and documents all aspects of routine histology procedures in an efficient and superior manner, including microtomy, embedding, special stains, routine staining, quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, gross prosecution, recycling solvents and formalin, verification and distribution of slides and non-specimen GYN preparations.
Participates in department Performance Improvement and Continuing Education
Maintains competency and proficiency; complies with safety and infection control policies
Assists with training and orienting new team members
Performs appropriate lab duties using the Laboratory Information System
Promotes laboratory compliance
Assists with compliance of all professional, federal, state and Cap requirements
Consistently adheres to safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and policies
Qualifications
Associate degree required or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Histotechnician (HT) certification or HT eligible by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
Completion of an approved Histology training
Minimum of two years as a bench tech in histology
Work Schedule
Employment Type: Variable Part Time
Hours per Week: 12 Hours
Typical Daily Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with additional flexibility as needed
Shift Type: Evening Shift
Weekend Requirements: None
Holiday Requirements: Follow company holiday calendar
On-Call: No
Shift Differential Eligible: Yes
Compensation
Pay Range: $26.91 - $39.03
If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
