Position
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) RN at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients requiring close observation and specialized nursing support.
Monitor complex conditions and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
Ensure a smooth transition for patients between critical care and general medical‑surgical units.
Unit Details
The IMCU is a 24‑bed unit that provides care for higher acuity patients in neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and renal.
Typical patients include respiratory failure/congestive heart failure, chronic tracheal ventilator patients, stroke and seizure patients, MI cardiac patients, renal hemodialysis, and post‑op surgical patients with extensive wounds such as decubitus ulcers, VATs, orthopedics, and ostomy.
Location & Shift
City/State: Suffolk, VA. Work Shift: Multiple shifts available.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Nursing‑BSN or MSN (Preferred).
Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
Certification/Licensure
Registered nursing license (Required).
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing license.
BLS required within 90 days of hire.
Experience
None required.
1 year of acute care (preferred).
Previous healthcare experience (preferred).
