We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced
PRN PACU Registered Nurse
to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient recovery, able to respond swiftly in critical situations, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
Deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase
Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications following surgery
Manage airway, pain control, and vital signs until patients meet discharge criteria
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
Administer medications and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment
Provide patient education and post-op instructions to patients and their families
Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure seamless transitions of care
Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards at all times
Qualifications
Current RN license in the state of Texas, in good standing
BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS a plus)
1–2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing preferred
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient setting is a plus
