Job Description
As a member of the health care team, performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing including M‑mode echocardiograms, 2‑DimensionaI and 3‑DimensionaI Sector scans, Cardiac Doppler, Colorflow Imaging, and measurement of Ejection Fraction by echocardiogram on patients who are adolescent, and adults at UTMC. Assists the physician in the performance of Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Performs Stress Exercise Echocardiograms in the Heart Station with the Stress Laboratory personnel. Maintains digital computer system.

Follows NPSG 09.02.01 by assessing all patients for their risk of falling using the Morse Fall Scale.
Follows NPSG 07.01.01 by washing hands effectively when transitioning from one patient to the next.
Recognizes safety issues in the department, handles incidents per institutional policies, and reports issues promptly.
Participates in department safety education and training to create a safe work environment.
Reports equipment dysfunction in a timely manner, implements alternate processes, and ensures patient care is not adversely affected.
Works as a team to limit exposure to blood and maintain a safe work environment.
Follows a standardized handoff communication approach and policies for communication, including opportunities for questions.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or higher relevant degree.
Registered in Adult Echocardiography through ARDMS or must obtain within six months of hire.
Computer knowledge required.
AHA/CPR certification in Basic Life Support Health Care Provider.
Experience in non‑invasive cardiology preferred.
Must be able to be on‑call and work independently; respond within 1 hour.
