Shift: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5:30a-2:00pm with alternating Saturdays 5:30a-1:00pm

Tuesday/Thursday 5:30a-2pm with alternating Saturdays 5:30a-1:00pm

Overview
The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey through

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) . In this role, you will educate clients about methadone and other MAT options while assessing their medical readiness and safely administering medication. Our Opioid Treatment Program provides evidence-based care using

Methadone, Subutex, and Suboxone

to treat opioid dependence in a compassionate, structured, and client-centered environment.

This position is ideal for an RN who is passionate about working with individuals affected by substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders and who values meaningful, purpose-driven work.

Responsibilities

Administer methadone and other MAT medications safely and accurately

Assess client condition and determine eligibility for medication dosing

Ensure precise documentation of medication dosages and changes

Maintain strict medication accountability and safeguards

Uphold client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Collaborate with physicians to support medical services, including physicals

Administer PPD testing

Respond to medical emergencies as needed

Educate clients on methadone treatment and recovery expectations

Orient clients to program procedures, including urine toxicology protocols

Provide health education on wellness and related medical topics

Maintain timely, accurate nursing notes

Document medications dispensed, telephone contacts, and client interactions

Ensure physician orders and administrative detox or arrears orders are properly recorded

Serve as a medical resource to interdisciplinary staff

Act as a liaison with external medical and community partners

Assist with proper medical waste handling

Work flexibly based on program needs and operating schedules

Perform other duties as required to support program operations

Qualifications & Experience

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Jersey

Minimum 2 years of RN experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in human services or a related field

Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Ability to work effectively with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders

Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment

Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills

Ability to train and support staff at multiple levels

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience working with diverse populations

Knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions and medications

Professional & Regulatory Responsibilities

Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, Fire & Safety, and Security regulations

Adhere to NJDOH-DMHAS, CARF, and NJSAMS standards

Follow all personnel, residential, and agency policies

Accurately document time worked

Attend all required trainings and meetings

Maintain professionalism and sound judgment at all times

Tools & Technology

Office equipment: telephone, copier, fax, computer

Ability to use required clinical and administrative software systems

Physical & Safety Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, twist, climb stairs, and drive as needed
