Job Overview
Works with patients newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder ages 5 years or younger in the outpatient setting. Evaluates each patient's psychotherapeutic needs and provides psychotherapy, behavioral support, and caregiver education/support, as indicated.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree
NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
AHA BLS Provider Certification
Tact, initiative and judgment in performance of duties
Minimum one-year of experience working with children under five years old and their caregivers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with young children diagnosed with autism
Familiarity with parenting programs for parents of young children with autism
Certifications And Licenses Required
NJ LCSW
AHA BLS Provider Certification

Flexibility in work hours and performance of duties
Essential Functions
Collaborates with developmental pediatrician or other diagnostician and caregiver to identify treatment goal
Provides effective individual, family group psychotherapy as indicated with emphasis on parenting of young children with autism or related issues
Identifies and assists with linkage to community supports as needed
Identifies realistic goals for psychotherapy
Attends program development and case conferences as indicated for patients treated or evaluated
Provides in-services to staff and community agencies as requested by Supervisor
Disseminates findings accurately and sensitively, according to Department policy
Provides supervision to staff, fellows, interns and externs as indicated
Provides effective team consultation as needed
Meets minimum annual expected volumes
