Position Overview
2026-2027 Cardiothoracic Radiology Fellowship at UT Health San Antonio.
Program Description
The Fellowship is a one-year non-standard training program designed to train board-certified or board-eligible radiologists in the imaging analysis and interpretation of cardiothoracic disease. Fellows will independently operate a non-invasive CTI service, including expert acquisition, processing, and interpretation of cardiovascular CT and MR imaging.
The Faculty team includes board-certified attending radiologists who are experts in chest radiography, thoracic CT/MR imaging, CT angiography (including coronary CTA), and cardiac CT/MR imaging. The department has state-of-the-art equipment, including DCT scanners and 1.5 T and 3.0 T MR scanners, and is affiliated with nationally recognized lung transplant programs and a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Fellow Experience
Advanced training in the interpretation of imaging studies for common and rare, acute and chronic cardiothoracic diseases, and performance of diagnostic cardiothoracic procedures.
All aspects of clinical cardiothoracic imaging.
Exposure to PET/CT and other relevant cardiothoracic nuclear medicine exams with the Nuclear Medicine team.
Encouraged to participate in scientific research projects.
Opportunities to present research at radiology society meetings.
Participation in multidisciplinary pulmonary, surgical thoracic oncology, radiology-pathology, and cardiology conferences.
Education of residents and medical students through lectures.
Requirements
Completion of Diagnostic Radiology Residency is required. Board certification or eligibility in radiology and a Doctorate.
