Responsibilities
The Nursing Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating nursing care throughout the hospital for a defined shift. The supervisor works in conjunction with the Department Directors and Chief Nurse Executive to ensure continuous delivery of quality patient care throughout the building. The supervisor has a thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, ACHA, AOA, and the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current RN licensure by the Florida State Board of Nursing.
5 years clinical experience in acute care hospitals.
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s in Nursing or other appropriate discipline preferred.
BLS required (AHA).
ACLS required (AHA).
Certification in specialty area preferred.
Demonstrates effectiveness in leadership, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
High tolerance for stressful situations.
Positive interpersonal relationship skills and strong people skills.
Basic computer skills required.
Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
