Shift Details
Full Time/Evenings (Monday-Friday 1600-0030). NO WEEKENDS/NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS.

Sign On Bonus
For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1‑2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Unit Overview
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Sanford is a 40‑bed, locked unit that provides a 24‑hour treatment program designed to provide care for adults ages 18‑95 in acute psychiatric crisis. The multidisciplinary team treats individuals experiencing major mental illnesses and addiction‑related problems. The program includes voluntary and involuntary levels of care.

Responsibilities

Admit patients to the Behavioral Health Unit by maintaining admitting criteria.

Screen all referral calls to the unit, obtaining referral information.

Screen assessment data; consult with the charge nurse and attending physician/advanced practice practitioner for the day.

Complete admissions process.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.

License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS Certification required or must complete within 30 days of start date.

Experience: Five years of psychiatric nursing or comparable experience preferred.
