Sign-on bonus: $20,000 available.
The Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist First Assist performs "scrub" and first assistant duties for scheduled surgeries in the CVOR and assists with draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery. Also knowledgeable in the principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures. Qualifications
Completion of a two-year Surgical Technologist Program preferred.
Completion of Surgical Technologist First Assist Program.
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry
Certification as a surgical technologist and first assist is preferred.
BLS CPR required.
Experience
Minimum of one year experience as a cardiothoracic senior surgical technologist or equivalent required.
Demonstrated ability to exceed above average performance in the cardiothoracic senior surgical technologist role based on prior experience.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexible in response to change.
Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or hazardous materials.
Responsibilities
Provide "scrub" and first assist duties for scheduled cardiovascular surgeries in the CVOR.
Assist with draping, and instrument handling for the specific procedure.
Adhere to sterile technique and sterilization procedures.
Maintain alignment with Memorial Health System safety, quality, integrity and stewardship standards.
