Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

River Metals Recycling LLC, a division of Nucor, is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Cincinnati, OH. This role will maintain and repair heavy industrial recycling equipment in a fast-paced, safety-first environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial maintenance, welding and cutting techniques, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems while adhering to strict safety standards. Compensation & Benefits Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance Retirement plans including 401(k) and Roth options with profit sharing and performance-based bonuses Work-life and growth benefits including paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and employee stock programs Qualifications & Requirements Demonstrated ability to follow and enforce company and OSHA safety procedures Experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment such as shredders, balers, and conveyor systems Proficiency with acetylene torch cutting and plasma cutting techniques MIG and stick welding experience, including use of 7018 rods Ability to operate shop equipment such as band saws Mechanical knowledge including changing liners, grates, hammers, gearboxes, and motors Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying conditions Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support maintenance and production teams during repairs and projects Willingness to perform general labor tasks including cleanup and additional assigned duties Key Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair recycling and processing equipment including shredders, eddy currents, and balers Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks to support equipment reliability and uptime Inspect and service conveyor systems, motors, and gearboxes to ensure optimal performance Replace wear components such as liners, grates, and hammers as part of preventative maintenance Assist with scheduled maintenance shutdowns and repair projects alongside production teams Maintain a clean and safe work environment through proper housekeeping and adherence to safety protocols Support daily operations with additional maintenance and general labor tasks as needed About the Company – Nucor Corporation Nucor Corporation is North America’s largest producer of steel and steel products and a leader in sustainable manufacturing as the continent’s largest recycler.
