Position Overview
The Accountant role is responsible for supporting accurate financial reporting, account analysis, and accounting operations within the AMS region. This role plays a key part in the monthly close, variance analysis, and financial compliance processes, while partnering closely with operations and finance leadership. This position contributes to financial discipline, data integrity, and continuous process improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial results in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Perform detailed account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records.
Support timely and accurate month-end closing activities, meeting established deadlines.
Assist in preparing financial reporting packages and analyses for management review.
Financial Analysis & Variance Reporting
Analyze financial performance, including actual vs. budget and forecast variances.
Investigate and explain variances by collaborating with operations, supply chain, and other functional teams.
Prepare recurring and ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decision-making.
Internal Controls & Compliance Support
Execute and document internal controls in accordance with company standards.
Support internal, and external audit requirements by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
Partner with Operations and FP&A to provide financial insights supporting plant and regional performance.
Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across accounting activities.
Systems & Process Improvement
Utilize ERP systems and financial tools to support accounting and reporting activities.
Assist with testing, documentation, and deployment of accounting system enhancements and process upgrades.
Contribute to the standardization and documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or environment.
Working knowledge of GAAP; exposure to IFRS is a plus.
Experience with AS400 or Microsoft Dynamics highly preferred
Proficiency in PC operations, Windows applications, and Excel
Experience with Power BI preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. xywuqvp
