Position exists to provide a designated person, with leadership skills, to assist in the responsibilities for an organized individual capable of multi-tasking large and small projects at the same time. Understands Materials management and ensures the safety and performance of the team. This individual must be a collaborator capable of working across different departments simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock and working on FIFO.
Receiving and Inspection: Supervise the receiving process for incoming materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
Material Handling: Coordinate the efficient handling and storage of materials, including proper labeling and organization within the warehouse.
Production Support: Work closely with production teams to ensure materials are available as needed, minimizing downtime and production delays.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain product quality and compliance with company standards.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations within the warehouse and production areas to ensure a safe working environment.
Team Leadership: Lead and train warehouse staff, providing guidance on the best practices for material handling and inventory management.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in material flow and reduce waste.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, material usage, and production metrics, preparing reports for management as needed.
Coordination with Suppliers: Communicate with suppliers regarding material orders, delivery schedules, and any issues related to supply chain disruptions.
Problem Solving: Address any issues related to material shortages, discrepancies, or logistical challenges in a timely manner.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training for warehouse staff on technologies, processes, and safety procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as procurement, and production, to align material needs with overall business goals.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Materials Manager to oversee employees assigned to their scope; and has some responsibility for hiring, firing, and conducts disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Associate's degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field and three (3) years of experience in shipping & receiving or inventory control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field preferred.
Experience managing teams of three (3) or more preferred.
Effective team-builder who accomplishes objectives through collaboration and teamwork.
Experience dealing with heavy and oversized loads.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Flexibility to handle multiple tasks, strong organizational & communication skills.
Knowledge of basic warehouse management.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.

Plant/Shop/Field Services:

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.
Regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions (outside weather conditions); high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
Occasionally exposed to the risk of radiation or electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
