POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Asset Manager for our Used Truck Sales and Leasing department is responsible for optimizing the lifecycle, readiness, and movement of off-lease equipment across all dealership locations. This role serves as the central operational support and coordination point for lease and sales teams, service shops, vendors, and internal administrative departments. The Asset Manager ensures that the out-of-service units are prepared for retail or wholesale disposition efficiently and accurately, while maintaining up-to-date inventory data and supporting all title-related processes.
This position requires strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts within a dynamic, multi-location dealership environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
Inventory Classification & Sales Support
Partner with the lease and used truck sales teams to identify units 60-90 days from out-service and determine the disposition strategy.
Out-Service Coordination
Coordinate out-service activities with local shops for units nearing end-of-lease or rotation.
Serve as the primary point of contact with service shops to:
Ensure repair estimates are completed promptly
Review and approve repair estimates based on cost-effectiveness and sales strategy
Monitor and follow up on approved repairs to ensure timely completion
Ensure units meet out-service terms and conditions
Oversee the inspection and photo process for retail and wholesale inventory
Coordinate all transportation and relocation of out-service units
Title & Documentation Management
Coordinate with Lease accounting team
Inventory List Management
Maintain, update, and validate the Allegiance Idealease inventory list, including:
Removing sold units
Adding newly acquired units
Managing location changes across network
Updating pricing
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in transportation and leasing or heavy-truck dealership operations preferred
Strong organizational and project-management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and leadership
Working knowledge of inventory systems, title processes, and coordination workflows
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dealership/ asset management systems
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy across inventory records, title documentation, and repair approvals.
Communication: Serves as the operational hub for sales teams, service shops, and administrative departments
Problem Solving: Anticipates challenges and proactively addresses issues related to logistics, repairs, and documentation
Time Management: Balances a high volume of concurrent tasks across multiple locations
Vendor Coordination: Maintains productive relationships with shops, inspection services, and transportation partners.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
This position is located primarily in the office environment. Mobility of walking, standing and bending is frequent. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, listen and use vision or corrected vision. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Travel may be required.
