Job Title: Yard Technician

Reports To: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Purpose:
The Yard Operations Technician will be responsible for managing the delivery and receiving of all construction equipment entering and leaving the yard, as well as maintaining yard organization. This role involves performing basic check-ins and preparation of new, used, and rental equipment, along with light mechanical work and facility maintenance.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform receiving and delivery of all construction equipment and attachments.
Conduct mechanical inspections of equipment.
Fuel new and rental equipment.
Pressure wash and detail equipment.
Perform light mechanical repairs.
Assist field and shop technicians with repairs when needed.
Maintain the organization of equipment and attachments in the yard.
General facility maintenance tasks
Perform any assigned tasks from management or foremen as required.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; enrollment in a trade school or technical program preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary.
Ability to lift 70 lbs.
Ability to operate a forklift safely.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment WorkSTEPS physical.
Requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of McClung-Logan Equipment Company.
This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
Must possess a clean MVR & valid Driver's License
This job requires the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification.
Requires working and driving outdoors in various climates/temperatures and the possibility of sitting for an extended period.
