Conversion Salary Rate:
Up to $135k per year.
Our client is seeking a
Data Platform Operations Engineer
to support the continued growth of our cloud and data platform capabilities. This is a newly created position driven by increased demand, offering the opportunity to work on modern Azure-based infrastructure and data solutions.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in building, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based data platforms while collaborating in a growing, fast-paced team environment.
What You'll Do
Deploy and manage Azure-based cloud infrastructure and data platform services
Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices
Support operational needs across the data platform, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
Partner with team members and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
Document deployments, configurations, and processes
Research and implement improvements for evolving platform needs
Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience with
Microsoft Azure
(service deployment and management)
Experience with
Terraform
for infrastructure provisioning
Experience with
GitHub Actions
or similar CI/CD tools
Strong understanding of
data platforms and architectures
Experience with
PostgreSQL
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of
cloud networking fundamentals
(VNets, subnets, private endpoints)
Experience with:
Azure CLI
Azure Monitoring tools
Databricks
SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Exposure to
Azure AI Studio / Azure AI Hub
Deeper expertise in
Databricks
What We're Looking For
Mid-to-senior level engineer with strong hands-on experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven experience deploying real-world Azure solutions
Strong communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Work Environment
Some on-site presence required (typically with 2-3 days' notice)
Small, growing team (currently 4 members)
Daily work includes:
1-2 hours of meetings
Hands-on engineering and solution development
Research and innovation for platform improvements
