Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should be familiar with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, including, for example, protein language models, representation learning, diffusion models and self-supervised learning techniques. The candidate will work with a team of world-class scientists to develop and fine tune protein language models for proteomics and biological sequence analysis. The candidate will also assist in writing annual reports for the project and developing materials for user and graduate student training.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

This position is funded as part of the NSF Biofoundry project to develop large language models for biological sequence analysis. Specifically, the candidate will develop and fine tune protein language models for glycoenzyme classification, engineering and function prediction and work closely with other project personnel to test predictions generated from LLMs. The candidate will also provide written reports of project updates and develop course materials for user training.
