Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing daily patient financial operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Provides guidance and support to staff to optimize billing, follow-up, collections, and reimbursement processes. Coordinates cross-functional efforts to resolve complex account issues and enhance patient experience. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Develops strategies to improve financial performance and operational outcomes.
Essential Functions
• Oversees patient financial services team performance to ensure accuracy and efficiency in billing, follow-up, collections, and/or denials resolution.
• Monitors accounts receivable to identify, analyze, and resolve outstanding balances, including overseeing timely cash posting and reconciliation activities.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates workflow and provides mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback to staff.
• Collaborates with clinical and administrative departments to resolve financial discrepancies and patient inquiries.
• Develops and implements process improvements to enhance revenue cycle efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Assists with reviews, reconciliations, and documentation to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Escalates complex issues and coordinates solutions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirement: 7+ years of experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
